SSI Showcases Swim-Snorkel-Scuba Business Model at DEMA Show 2011
(Dive Travel Business News - December 1, 2011) -- Scuba Schools International (SSI), the premier education and business support company came to DEMA to reinforce and build on its new business model for the recreational sport diving industry – Swim, Snorkel, Scuba. SSI advises the industry on some of its strategies for success here:
Swim, Snorkel, Scuba Model – The idea of a swim, snorkel, scuba model is keeping customers involved for life. Start them out young in swim, brand them to your business and the love of water, graduate them to Snorkel or Scuba Rangers, then to Freediving or Open Water Diver, Specialties and Xtended Range diving. Check into the new standards and exciting changes that Mike Ange has brought to SSI TXR and how this well-rounded range of products can extend the time customers stay in diving.
Offer More Opportunities for Education and Experience – SSI has completely revamped the entire range of Extended Range and Technical Extended Range diving courses in 2011 at both the student and instructor levels. The host of new courses includes Advanced Nitrox/Extended Range, Advanced and Technical Wreck Diving, Cavern Diving, Intro to Cave Diving, Basic Cave Diving, Full Cave Diving, Decompression and Advanced Decompression Diving, as well as Normoxic & Hypoxic Trimix Diving, and even a Gas Blender program.
SSI React Right – SSI brings to the table a new First Aid, CPR, AED & O2 Provider program for 2012. Focused on practical applications for treating scuba-related illness and injury, React Right fills the gap for the vast numbers of SSI divers working toward their Master Diver certification, and helps Dive Professionals keep up to speed on the latest techniques and training in the field.
SSI Open Water Diver + Poseidon Mark VI Rebreather – Never before seen in the industry, SSI has partnered with Poseidon to create a new entry-level Open Water Diver program utilizing the state-of-the-art Poseidon Mark VI Rebreather. This new equipment-specific way of teaching offers hours of continuous no-decompression dive time to the new diver. Watch for this exciting new program at an SSI Dive Center near you in 2012!
New SSI Dive Center and Resort Acquisition – This was one of the greatest shows ever for new dive center and resort acquisition!
“This was one of our best DEMA’s ever,” stated Doug McNeese SSI, President and CEO. “Our focus is and remains the dive center and resort! For this reason, the response to our swim, snorkel, scuba model was overwhelming. Retailers made comments like, ‘It’s about time someone had a vision that brings new and younger customers into our sport."
With 2600 plus dive centers and resorts worldwide, 31 regional offices and materials in 25 languages, SSI is not just a dive certification agency, but a partner in dive travel. Visit SSI or (800) 821-4319 ext. 143.
