(Dive Travel Business News - June 6, 2011) -- In January 2012, Zegrahm Expeditions will operate two diving- and snorkeling-focused voyages to the Seychelles aboard the 110-passenger Clipper Odyssey. Throughout their Ultimate Seychelles and Classic Seychelles journeys, divers and snorkelers will encounter over 150 coral species and some 850 species of rainbow-hued fish, as well as manta rays, spinner dolphins, hawksbill and green turtles, and hundreds of giant clams. Highlights on both itineraries include:

Aldabra Atoll - The world's second largest atoll is a World Heritage Site comprised of four major islands separated by channels. Enjoy an exhilarating drift-snorkel through a narrow pass into a lagoon populated by turtles and eagle rays, plus glimpse the giant Indian Ocean tortoises - estimated at over 100,000 - who roam wild on shore.

Astove Atoll - Along the atoll's vertical reef wall, divers and snorkelers will delight in the crystal clear waters populated by turtles, clouds of tropical fish, and colorful corals.

The Amirante Island Group - Named in honor of Portuguese admiral Vasco da Gama's 1501 visit, enjoy diving and snorkeling over coral gardens inhabited by brilliantly-colored tropical fish as manta rays glide through the waters below and black-naped terns soar in the skies above.

La Digue - Take a break from the underwater realm today (if you like) to admire the giant pink granite boulders, swaying palms, and postcard-perfect white sand beaches that grace the island of La Digue.

In addition, on the January 13 - 27 Ultimate Seychelles expedition, snorkel at Sainte Anne Marine National Park, a group of six islands that was the first marine park to be founded in the Indian Ocean over 30 years ago. Plus, dive in the Alphonse Island Group to search for Madras snappers and the nine species of butterflyfish found here.

While the January 24 - February 10 Classic Seychelles expedition visits Assumption Island, renowned for the clarity of its waters and its profuse undersea life which led Jacques Cousteau to film much of his documentary The Silent World here. We snorkel and dive among the corals, with excellent views of undersea life such as clams, nudibranchs, and well over 100 species of fish, including black lionfish, blue-ribbon eels, black-streak surgeonfish, and Indian Ocean steephead parrotfish. Divers and snorkelers will also enjoy excursions in the Comoros Islands and off the coast of Tanzania.

In addition to nearly daily included diving excursions, all of Zegrahms' small-ship adventures also include cultural tours, meals, luxury accommodations, all gratuities, and transfers on group arrival and departure days.
