Scuba Sport Magazines Hits Stands, Online Version Available

(Dive Travel Business News - January 5, 2012) -- The bi-monthly scuba diving/underwater lifestyle magazine that made its debut at the 2011 DEMA show in Orlando, Florida hit news stands at 200 participating dive centers in three countries on December 23, 2011. While Scuba Sport Magazine focuses on diving destinations, diving news, equipment and issues, the magazine finds a niche with the non-diver.  At the end of every destination article about activities to engage non-divers while their significant others are out on the dive boat. 

Scuba Sport Magazine publisher Joe Froelich understands the dilemma:  "One of the most common questions that divers receive when pitching a travel idea to their spouses or  families has always been 'What am I (the kids) going to do while you’re out diving?', which is why we include amenities, activities and adventures to keep the entire family engaged while you’re chasing barracudas, sharks and sea turtles," says Froelich.

Well-known industry contributors to Scuba Sport Magazine include Ty Sawyer, Fred Garth, E. Lee Spence, Steven Barsky, Lloyd "LG" Garrard, Graeme Teague and Michael Lawrence. While the primary dive destination focus of coverage will be the US East and Gulf Coasts, Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean, there will be at least one exotic destination in every issue.

Publisher Froelich has a track record in the dive media community, with articles and/or photos published in Sport Diver, Scuba Diving, Skin Diver, Southern Diver, Dive Training,  Discover Diving, Florida Underwater, and Dive Report Magazines. He also served as a featured columnist for the Scuba News, and EcoFlorida Magazine. He also has photos in the books: REEF Creature ID (Paul Humann), Ned Deloach’s Underwater Florida, and Reef Fishes (Patrick Michael).

An online version of the inaugural Jan-Feb 2012 edition of Scuba Sport Magazine is now available.  Site visitors can look up their nearest participating dive center to pick up a copy.
