Dancer & Aggressor Fleets offer Free SSI Advanced Adventurer

(Dive Travel Business News - May 11, 2011) -- The Dancer Fleet, and sister operation Aggressor Fleet, in partnership with Scuba Schools International now offer the SSI Advanced Adventurer Certification free of charge to all guests traveling on these fleet cruises.  According to Wayne Hasson, President of the Aggressor and Dancer Fleets “The Advanced Adventurer certification fits right in with the LiveAboard Lifestyle we offer.   Our guests are already doing these dives each week and this new program creates a way to document those dives and offer credit for those dive experiences.”

The experience based Advanced Adventurer Certification is designed to allow divers to obtain an introduction to five specialty areas of diving.  This will help the diver decide what specialty courses they may want to continue their training with in the future. On Dancer Fleet and Aggressor Fleet yachts, a combination of 12 different specialties may be available depending on the destination, including Night Diving, Shark Diving, Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Boat Diving, U/W Naturalist, U/W Navigation, Perfect Buoyancy, Nitrox, Computer Diving, Drift Diving, and Digital Photography.

To complete the certification, divers simply document their dives in their logbook and have a crewmember fill out an Advanced Adventurer Registration Form.  Upon returning home, they mail in the registration form along with a picture to Aggressor or Dancer Fleet headquarters where the card is processed and returned to the diver.

In the SSI Total Teaching System, training and experience are the key to creating safe divers.  The experience of a LiveAboard trip and the documented specialty dives, which are part of the Advanced Adventurer course, travel home with the student.  Those experiences may be applied towards the completion of specialty training courses at their local SSI Dive Center.  For some specialty courses, full dive credits may be achieved and only the academic work needs to be completed.  For others it may require an additional dive with a local instructor.  When four specialty courses and 24 dives have been completed, divers earn the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver rating or the Master Diver rating is earned by completing 4 specialties, the Stress and Rescue course and 50 dives.

Dancer Fleet and Aggressor Fleet are two unique brands owned by the same parent company since 2008.  As the largest organization of liveaboard adventure cruises in the world, the combined knowledge, resources, experience, and technical expertise are all focused on delivering a safe adventure you will remember for a lifetime on each and every cruise.
