(Travel Pulse - January 20, 1010) -- A 5.8-magnitude earthquake occurred about 40 miles southeast of Grand Cayman Island at 9:23 a.m., local time, on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. According to the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, the tremor was 40 miles east-southeast of George Town, the capital of Grand Cayman, and occurred at a depth of 6.2 miles. No injuries have been reported and there have been no reports of damage to buildings. Business and schools have remained open and residents have resumed their normal daily routines.
